AI influencers are popping up all over Instagram and TikTok, racking up followers and brand deals. But should they be required to disclose that they’re computer-generated? Some argue yes—transparency is key. Others say it’s just part of the digital evolution, and fans don’t really care.
Still, when these AI personas start promoting products or talking about life experiences they never actually had, it gets ethically messy. Should people have the right to know if they’re emotionally connecting with a character written by code? Or are we already past that point?
