Should caste census be conducted every 10 years like the general census?

India’s general census is conducted every 10 years, but caste-specific data hasn’t been updated since 1931 (except for SECC in 2011). If caste is such a vital social factor, shouldn’t it be documented regularly to reflect changes and challenges? Some believe that every decade is ideal for policy updates, while others think it will only create unnecessary disruptions.
